UNPLUGGED Family Game Night on Friday What is it?? “Unplugged" is a FREE (non-tech – board-type) game night sponsored by Summitt Elementary PTA to provide a place for families to gather, play games, get to know each other & have fun.
When is it?? Friday, October 4, 2013; 6-8 pm
What should I bring?? Bring your family, your good humor, and a family game if you would like. We will have some games on hand, but bring your family favorite, or come ready to try something new. We will have “game facilitators” to help monitor game areas
Will there be food? We will have some snacks available for sale, you can bring your own dinner/snacks from home or eat before you come. Whatever works best for your family!
This is FREE fun for the whole family, NOT a drop-off event, Come Join the Fun!!
Marathon Kids The Marathon Kids Kick-off is on Saturday, October 5 from 9-11 a.m. at UT Mike Meyers stadium featuring Mario Lopez.
Summitt Family Night Catfish Parlour Family Night is Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 5:30-9PM. Join other Summitt Families for dinner. A portion of the meals will be donated to Summitt. Look for our "celebrity cooks" ready to fry up some catfish for you!
HEB Gift Cards If you shop at HEB it’s a great way to support the school without having it hit your budget. You buy them at face value and 4% goes back to the PTA. Email Kynna at Kynna@austin.rr.com to pre-order and arrange for pick up after school on Monday October 7thin the Great Hall or Wednesday October 9th at the 4th/5th Grade pick up line. Cards come in $25, $50, $100, & $200 denominations and can be purchased with cash or check only. Volunteer Have you wanted to support Summitt Elementary; however, you don't have too much time due to other commitments? Would you have one hour per month to participate in the Summitt Campus Advisory Council (CAC)? This group of staff, parents and community members advise on various issues related to Summitt. Volunteer The crossing guard position has been filled!! We are now in need of someone to update the marquee, if someone is interested please have them contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteer in the Teacher Workroom Do you have 15 minutes or more a week available to volunteer? Can you make copies, cut, staple? The teacher workroom is the place for you! Please contact Karla at email@example.com if you have some time to help the classroom teachers with their lesson preparation. A few minutes in the morning or afternoon is all it takes! Volunteer for Yearbook Coordinator The PTA is seeking a yearbook coordinator for the new school year. The coordinator collects photos, lays out the pages of the yearbook (with the help of the Interstate rep), coordinates sales and distribution of the yearbooks. Food/drink donations Please help by donating the following items. Items can be dropped off in the Great Hall.
Pre-K: 12-24 juices boxes (100% juice preferred)
Kindergarten: 2 liter sodas
1st grade: 12-24 packs of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dr. Pepper
2nd grade: Tall cans of Pringles chip for Pringles Toss Game (One of the most popular games!)
3rd grade: Halloween candy (2 lb. bag of individually wrapped pieces)
4th grade: 12-24 individual snack size bags of chips for the Food Court
5th grade: Tall cans of Pringles chips for Pringle Toss Game
Fall Fest Classroom Sign-ups Classroom sign-ups are now online! Follow this link and look for your child’s grade and teacher. Pick a shift (or two), and that’s it!

Labeled Tables and coolers can be dropped off in the Great Hall beginning October 14. Please label your tables & coolers. Please contact email@example.com if you are available to pick up coolers/tables on Saturday morning and deliver to the school by 10 AM.
Volunteers during Set-up We need volunteers starting at 8 AM on Saturday. Set up begins at 8 AM and will last most of the day, so come when you can! Here are some volunteer opportunities:
- Volunteers needed to help set up the games
- Do you have a truck and can do some semi-heaving lifting? We need to help with the big games, tables, coolers, ticket booth.
- 1-2 people with a truck to start filling the coolers with ice at 1 PM. Texan Market has generously donated as much ice as we need.
- 4 volunteers to start the popcorn and cotton candy machines by noon or 1pm.
- Pick up DONATED hot dogs from HEB at 2PM
- Cooks to grill up the hotdogs and sausages! Volunteer for a 30 minute shift starting at 3:30 PM!
- Help hang signs for games, food booth etc.
Student Volunteers Needed Do you have a child who needs volunteer hours? Send them to fall fest to volunteer. We will provide them a volunteer certificate at the end of their shift. We need help setting up (starting at 10 AM) and running the games (3:30-7 PM). If your student wants more information on volunteering, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
